Having my period is a feminine experience. I don`t think of menstruation as a punishment, a sentence, a burden or something I want to be rid of. It is the natural flow of female hormones. Those hormones protect my bones, my heart, my sex drive, my skin and more. And I know that menstruation is often a barometer of a woman?s reproductive health, showing that her body is running smoothly. Menstruating can sometimes be uncomfortable and a bit of a hassle but I can live with both for the benefits those hormones provide.

School Uniforms
The school that my children go to insist on all their children wearing School Uniforms everyday. I know from talking to friends who have children in the school that School Uniforms are a contentious issue for many parents. Some people think that pupils should be able to wear their own clothes to school and that they should not have to pay extra money for clothes that they do not need. Another argument is that when pupils can wear their own clothes to school they feel more comfortable and thereefore more ready to work. They also say that wearing their own clothes to school makes students feel they retain their individuality. However, I disagree with most of these statements. I feel that School Uniforms instill a sense of discipline within children that they need in order to get the most out of their education. Discipline is extremely important to children and, although they often rebel against it, I feel that ultimately they like rules and regulations to be in place because they know where they stand in their daily life. Wearing a uniform also upholds the values of the school and gives it a profile throughout the whole community.

Bridesmaids Dresses
My friend is getting married in the summer and has asked me to be a bridesmaid. I readily agreed but said that there was one condition. I said that I would not wear one of those Bridesmaids Dresses that made me look like a meringue. She promised that this would not be the case and said that she would let me have a say in the Bridesmaids Dresses before she chose them. I breathed a huge sigh of relief about this because I know that my friend knows what style of clothes I like and am sure that she will take this into account when looking at Bridesmaids Dresses. We have all really thrown ourselves into organising the wedding and none of us can wait for it to actually take place. She has chosen to get married at the most beautiful hotel on the banks of a river and part of the reception is going to be a boat ride down the river. She is also making sure she gets the most fantastic caterers and entertainment for the evening so the day is going to absolutely wonderful. I can`t wait and obviously, neither can she.
